When a tango organizer brings you another group of students for a second time in a row, it’s most likely because things turned out very well the first time!

This is our story with My Lento group from Finland. We were very happy to organize their second tango holidays last November 2019!

Word of mouth is surely one of the most effective ways of advertising, and some guests from this group had heard how much fun the first My Lento group had had in 2018.

The novelty in the latest program was our very own tango cultural night. We want our guests to understand that tango is not just the dance or the music, it’s much more than that, it’s an underlying thread that binds the social fabric together, it is the culture of the people of Rio de la Plata , shaped by the immigration, social and political turmoil, and the desire to have fun.

Whenever there is gender disparity in a group, we bring in a few local dancers to step in so everyone would have a partner during the class. These local Argentine milongueros are aspiring tango teachers or performers, and therefore dance extremely well.  Apart from being great dancers, the guys we choose are very friendly and eager to share their culture with our guests.

We aim to make our guests feel at home here in Buenos Aires and to be in touch as much as possible with locals. We believe it’s the best cultural experience one can have!

Some ladies claimed that having the chance to dance with these amazing dancers during their tango lessons was one of the highlights of their time in Buenos Aires!

A wonderful trip straight to the ”Tango heaven”. The teachers were fantastic just as the dance partners. All the tours were great, interesting and unique. The food was really delicious , from starter to desert. Many thanks for a unforgettable experience.

We also made sure that our group was able to eat plenty of Argentine “lomo” along with delectable malbec during their 2 weeks with us. We selected a wide spectrum of restaurants, to allow guests to taste a variety of cooking methods and cuisines. Culinary experience is as important as cultural experience!  Some of the guests made sure to eat a piece of meat every single day, even if it meant doing it on their own free time! The entire group coincided on one point: they had the best bife de lomo during their farewell dinner at Hugo’s house, our favorite bandoneon player ! Hugo and his friend Emiliano prepared a mouth watering home-made asado which quality exceeded any parilla in town! Tender and juicy bife de lomo among other cuts were served for our guests during their last dinner in town, one that they will never forget!

Indeed, not only was it a dinner, but it was also an evening to be reunited one last time with the tango maestros and milongueros that participated in our program. All together we shared food, wine, music and dance in an intimate night at Hugo’s house.
